At the end of my life, I will consider myself a success if Mindi (my bride of 9 years, Max and Ben can say this about me: “My dad was a man after God’s own heart. He was a present, loving, committed, loyal, joyful and passionate husband and father.” Period.
That’s the important stuff. Now for the small stuff …
I earned my Masters in Counseling from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette and am a proud alumnus of St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, LA. For two years I studied ministry and spirituality in Rome, Italy at the Angelicum, the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas.
For eight years I served as Director of Campus Ministries at St. Thomas More Catholic High School. Following my time at STM I served as a counselor and administrator at St. Cecilia School in Broussard, LA. Today I am a licensed counselor at Pax Renewal Center in Lafayette, LA. My counseling ministry draws upon my own experience of the therapeutic process. Click here to read more about counseling services.
I’ve written a few books, A Practical Guide to High School Campus Ministry (St. Mary’s Press, 2007) helps campus ministers embrace a comprehensive model for ministry in Catholic high school, What I Wish Someone Had Told Me About the First Five Years of Marriage (St. Anthony Messenger Press, 2010) and God Wears Running Shoes: Spiritual Reflections for Those Ministering to Young People (2009) and What Teens Want You to Know But Don’t Tell You (St. Anthony Messenger Press, IN PRESS–2012)
For five years I wrote an internationally syndicated column, called Our Young Church. It is for all those “in the trenches” with young people who each day make Jesus present to young people.
I am lucky to have to opportunity to speak and help facilitate experiences for people to enter sacred space and encounter the Lord. I’ve been privileged to do this in Churches, Schools, Conferences and Dioceses around the country.
